0 Preview of the McDowell Mountain Music Festival
When you think of relevant music festivals (Coachella, SXSW, Lollapalooza etc.), Phoenix, Arizona rarely comes to mind. However, the creators of the McDowell Mountain Music Festival (MMMF) would like to hope otherwise as this year’s line-up boasts enough big acts to make you think twice. The three-day festival will feature Balkan Beat Box, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, the Shins, the Roots, Deer Tick, and Dr. Dog, as well as local acts over the course of three days (March 22 – March 24). Founded in April of 2004, MMMF had visions of bringing back real music to the deserts of the Southwest while simultaneously supporting a righteous cause. 100% of the festival’s proceeds are donated to charities supporting local children.
We at the flowerhouse are extremely excited for the opportunity to bring you extensive coverage of the event, which will include live tweets, photos, and interviews. Stay tuned for more information!

0 Viva fhouse!
Well, as unlikely as it seemed when we started the site last year, the Flowerhouse podcast has somehow reached its one-year anniversary. 100 posts, several hundred songs and well over 150 bands later, the Flowerhouse podcast has gone from a quirky hobby to a real labor of love.
Along with our anniversary and 100th post, you may have noticed a new look and feel to the site. Flowerhouse 2.0 not only gives us more functionality (a dedicated audio player, etc.), but does so in a much cleaner and professional looking package. Hopefully you approve. We also wanted apologize for any inconvenience on your part while we sort out the back-end of the new site – unfortunately, some of the spamming yesterday was necessary to set up our new format. Going forward, you can also expect new graphics, pictures, concert videos, and even a dedicated fhouse logo. Stay tuned.
I’m not sure what Brandon and I expected when we turned out episode one but we certainly couldn’t have envisioned the incredible people and fantastic shows that we have encountered through the podcast and site. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to share our music with you and look forward to sharing many more songs in the coming years.
Thank you for your continued support. Viva fhouse!
